PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacinto um Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heitor Vila lobos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vila lobos has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Heitor Vila lobos will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jacinto um Pinto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Heitor Vila lobos!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vila lobos is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Vila lobos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows um Pinto to score an easy takedown into full guard.
um Pinto advances position into side control!
Vila lobos looks gassed!
um Pinto is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Vila lobos will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

um Pinto stands up and we're back to a striking position.

um Pinto throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vila lobos was covering up waiting for the punch and um Pinto finishes the takedown easily into guard.

um Pinto is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

um Pinto stands up from guard. Let's bang!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vila lobos checks the leg kick nicely there.

um Pinto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
um Pinto perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
um Pinto could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

um Pinto is trying for a kimura here. Vila lobos looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! um Pinto wins by kimura!
