PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Possu The Pumpkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaba Wonton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wonton has chosen Frank Goes To Hollywood - Relax as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wonton keeps the fight on the outside.
The Pumpkin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wonton checks the leg kick nicely there.
Wonton tries to clinch there but The Pumpkin circles away.
Possu The Pumpkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Pumpkin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wonton eats them both and turns towards The Pumpkin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Shaba Wonton has been cut.
The crowd cheers as The Pumpkin lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wonton doesn't seem phased though.
Wonton throws a combination but it was largely blocked by The Pumpkin.

Wonton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wonton just misses with a punch to the body.
Wonton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The Pumpkin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The Pumpkin wriggles free and stands up.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wonton takes a swing at The Pumpkin's ribcage but misses.
Wonton fails to land the takedown.

The Pumpkin feints and then cracks Wonton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wonton down.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The Pumpkin walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wonton checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Wonton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wonton dives in and grabs The Pumpkin's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Pumpkin pushes down on Wonton's head and hops out.
Wonton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The Pumpkin tries to avoid it but Wonton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag The Pumpkin to the ground. The Pumpkin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Wonton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, The Pumpkin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wonton but great work by The Pumpkin.

The Pumpkin decides to stand back up. The Pumpkin steps back and let's Wonton get back to his feet.

Wonton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by The Pumpkin, who protects the arm well.

Wonton goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, The Pumpkin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wonton's guard! Nice work there by The Pumpkin!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wonton isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. The Pumpkin stacks Wonton on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by The Pumpkin!

The Pumpkin throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Wonton.

Shaba Wonton's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The Pumpkin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
