PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Flash Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Makosa Michinoku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michinoku comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Makosa Michinoku hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rage wants to control but Michinoku is keeping busy.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Michinoku is working for a kimura but Rage is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Michinoku shoots in and gets a takedown into Rage's guard.

Rage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Michinoku swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Michinoku holds on and takes a little breather.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Makosa Michinoku was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Rage shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Rage sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Michinoku's guard.

Rage seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Michinoku does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

We're going to have a standup here because Flash Rage wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Rage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Michinoku keeps working.
Michinoku gets full guard.
Rage is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Rage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Michinoku swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Michinoku tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rage drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rage jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Flash Rage showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Rage has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
