Legeld comes to the cage accompanied by System Of A Down-Metro. Martin Legeld has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Unitas!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Unitas.
Unitas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Legeld swivels and escapes.

Legeld gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Unitas to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Unitas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Legeld's waist but Legeld gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Unitas off to one side.

Unitas wants to stand but Legeld is controlling the position.

Unitas is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Legeld in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Legeld lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Legeld throws a big right hand that misses.

Unitas misses with a takedown

and Legeld counters with a single leg into guard. Unitas didn't expect that.
Legeld postures up in Unitas's guard and throws a big left but Unitas blocks it.
Legeld with a nice head shot there.
Legeld preventing the sweep.
Legeld landing with the ground and pound.

Unitas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Legeld defends well.

Legeld thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Unitas is breathing heavily.

Unitas has Legeld pulled in close to control his posture.

Legeld postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Unitas is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Legeld, into his guard.
Unitas trying to control but Legeld is working from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Legeld is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Unitas is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Unitas wants to control from the top but Legeld keeps moving.
Legeld looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. David Unitas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Unitas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Legeld has escaped the position, nice work there.

Unitas swings around for an armbar but Legeld sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Unitas's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin Legeld dominated that second round.
That's time! Legeld's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Unitas has his takedown stuffed

and Legeld counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Legeld drops an elbow to the side of Unitas's head.

Unitas is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Legeld has latched onto it... Big trouble! Legeld pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Unitas is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Legeld!
