Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, One Dude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Rusty Everson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Reed Andrews and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dude throws a right and a left that Everson avoids nicely.
Everson scores with a jab to the body.
Dude fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Everson is out of range.
Everson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dude pinned against the cage. Dude gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dude leaves Everson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

One Dude has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rusty Everson.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dude stuns Everson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Dude throws a series of punches but Everson avoids them all with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dude is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Dude is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Dude's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dude throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Everson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dude throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Dude misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dude goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Everson lands with a hook. Dude tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Everson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Everson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that One Dude will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Everson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Everson lands in his opponent's guard.

Rusty Everson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
