PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noah Gynns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leha Nik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Noah Gynns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leha Nik!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Gynns does no damage.
Gynns shoots in but Nik avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Nik tries to keep at a distance but Gynns has taken the fight into the clinch.

Gynns escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nik connects with a jab.
Gynns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nik tries to avoid it but Gynns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nik to the ground. Nik escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gynns is defended easily by Nik.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Noah Gynns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nik tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gynns manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nik slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Nik as he connects with a hook.

Gynns moves into the clinch.
Gynns has Nik pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Nik manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gynns wants to stall.
A right handed body shot lands from Nik.
Nik is trying to force a seperation but Gynns has the dominant position.
Nik wants to get back to striking at distance but Gynns won't allow it.

Gynns gets control of Nik's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gynns will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nik's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Nik is looking to work some ground and pound but Gynns has wrist control.
Nik content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nik working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nik postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gynns is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nik, into his guard.
Gynns trying to control but Nik is working from the bottom.
Nik is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gynns is controlling him.
Gynns not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Gynns trying to control the position from guard on top but Nik is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nik goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Some wild striking there from Nik.

Nik clinches up against the cage.
Nik looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A short right from Nik.

Gynns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gynns tries to clinch
and Nik counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Gynns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nik digs a good body shot into Gynns's ribs.
Gynns is breathing heavily.
Gynns tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Nik holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gynns breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nik wants to clinch.
Nik lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Nik instigates a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nik breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gynns shoots in looking for a takedown but Nik manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gynns's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Nik counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nik can't break the clinch.

Nik breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gynns walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leha Nik dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Nik is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Gynns hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Leha Nik!
