And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Kolobkow!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kolobkow slaps away a takedown attempt from Vahovsky, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kolobkow moves in looking to clinch but Vahovsky pushes him off.
Kolobkow walks into a stiff left hand from Vahovsky.
Kolobkow lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Vahovsky - that will leave a mark!
Kolobkow looks gassed!
Nice sprawl there from Kolobkow as Vahovsky shoots in.
Vahovsky really is a fat lump.
Vahovsky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kolobkow defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Vahovsky. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kolobkow will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Vahovsky closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Vahovsky is looking to take a break and control but Kolobkow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kolobkow can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vahovsky cracks Kolobkow with a big elbow.
Vahovsky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vahovsky trying to control the action but Kolobkow is working from the bottom.
Vahovsky will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Vahovsky just content to control the position.
Kolobkow is working to avoid the ground and pound but Vahovsky connects with a decent elbow.

Vahovsky decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kolobkow to his feet.

Vahovsky closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Ivan Kolobkow has been cut.
Vahovsky lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vahovsky shoots and misses

and Kolobkow counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Vahovsky!
Vahovsky keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kolobkow really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vahovsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vahovsky slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Kolobkow is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vahovsky has managed to free his arm - good work.
Kolobkow trying to control from half guard but Vahovsky is working away.

Vahovsky keeping hold of Kolobkow's head, controlling as best he can.

Kolobkow is working for a submission of some sort.

Vahovsky makes his way to full guard, as Kolobkow worked for a kimura.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kolobkow trying to control the position from guard on top but Vahovsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kolobkow wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Vahovsky's closed guard. He's half up but Vahovsky has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Vahovsky pivots and extends the arm, Kolobkow falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Vahovsky! Well done that man!
