Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a takedown attempt - Vick sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Vick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Vick darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.

Vick breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nice uppercut lands for Vick. That snapped Smith's head back.

The fighters circle momentarily. Vick darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Vick fails with an attempt to clinch.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Vick.
Vick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Vick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vick sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard.

Smith is looking for a sweep. Vick is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith is looking for a sweep. Vick is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.

Vick fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Vick throws a sloppy strike and Smith uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Smith has ended up in Vick's guard.
Vick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vick manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Smith manages to get himself to full guard.
