PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Ringseal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ringseal comes to the ring accompanied by "Man in the box". These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alan Ringseal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George St Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ringseal fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. St Pierre sprawls well initially but Ringseal persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
St Pierre wants to get back to his feet.
Ringseal is keen to just control but St Pierre is a slippery customer.
St Pierre is trying to stand.
Ringseal is pressing down on St Pierre's thigh, looking to free his foot. St Pierre is holding on for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Ringseal is thwarting St Pierre's attempts to control the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
St Pierre tries to roll over but Ringseal keeps him under control.

Ringseal throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. St Pierre tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ringseal is in St Pierre's guard.

Ringseal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ringseal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

St Pierre is looking to improve his position but Ringseal isn't that keen on the idea.
Ringseal lands a big shot there that rocks St Pierre but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Ringseal with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Ringseal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ringseal is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. St Pierre can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
