The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karelin looks for a takedown but Guzman sprawls well.
Karelin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Karelin is trying to control the action in half guard but Guzman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Karelin with the ground and pound but Guzman uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Karelin is looking to work some ground and pound but Guzman has wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Karelin looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Karelin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Guzman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Karelin stands up over Guzman, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Karelin with a flurry of punches that miss.
Karelin postures up in Guzman's guard and throws a big left but Guzman blocks it.
Karelin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Karelin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Guzman is looking to stand up but Karelin won't let him.

Karelin shoots in for a takedown but Guzman shows good takedown defense.
Karelin takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Guzman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Aleksandr Karelin has been cut.
