Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez comes to the cage accompanied by Juno Reactor - Pistolero. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enrique Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerald Hodges!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Mendez misses its intended target.
Mendez misses with a hook

and Hodges counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Mendez!
Hodges controlling the pace for now.

Hodges is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Hodges avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hodges uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mendez.
Hodges ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hodges throws the kick towards the body but Mendez avoids it.
Mendez misses with a body punch
and Hodges finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hodges.
Hodges lands an overhand right.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendez misses with a left hand
enabling Hodges to counter with a crisp jab.
Mendez throws a body punch but Hodges moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mendez throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hodges makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Mendez really felt that one!
Mendez is breathing heavily.
Mendez has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hodges.
Hodges fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Mendez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hodges fakes the leg kick and cracks Mendez in the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
That kick from Hodges tenderised Mendez's leg. Mendez is trying to keep his angry face on.
Mendez takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hodges is looking to slow Mendez down with leg kicks.
Hodges lands a nice looking body kick.
Mendez has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hodges.
Mendez misses with a double jab
and Hodges counters with an inside leg kick.
Hodges lands a big head kick that sends Mendez to the canvas! Hodges follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
