Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dennis Beltran!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beltran cracks Tossavainen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


It looks like Uljas Tossavainen has been cut.
Tossavainen defending well as Beltran loads up on a big left hand.
Beltran throws a left that rocks Tossavainen and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Beltran dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Tossavainen regain composure!


Tossavainen is rocked!
Beltran misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Tossavainen is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Tossavainen manages to work his way to half guard, despite Beltran's best efforts.
Tossavainen seems to have got his legs back now.

Tossavainen controls Beltran momentarily but Beltran frees himself.
Beltran postures up and lands a big shot to Tossavainen's brow.
Beltran lands a couple of elbows.
Beltran wanted to stand there but Tossavainen had control of the position.
Beltran throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Beltran trying to control the position from guard on top but Tossavainen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tossavainen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Beltran wants to stand but Tossavainen is controlling his posture from full guard.
Beltran trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Tossavainen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tossavainen wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tossavainen is breathing heavily.
Beltran throws a big right hand that misses.
Beltran slips nicely into half guard.
Tossavainen is looking to control Beltran's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tossavainen avoid being mounted?
Beltran wants to stand but Tossavainen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Tossavainen is looking for a sweep. Beltran is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Beltran throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tossavainen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Beltran.
Tossavainen doesn't manage to clinch there - Beltran circles away.
Beltran getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Nice shot lands for Beltran.


Uljas Tossavainen's cut is getting worse.
Beltran is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Tossavainen blocks a jab.

Beltran gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beltran has given up his back.

Tossavainen has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Beltran! Can he survive? No! He's out! Tossavainen gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
