The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy tries to clinch but valero is having none of it.
valero looks to land a combination but Hardy avoids it well.
valero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hardy is fending him off so far but valero persists. Nope, Hardy circles away and we're back to standing.
Hardy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from valero.
Hardy fails in his attempt to clinch.

valero shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

valero is working for a guillotine from mount but Hardy frees his head quite easily.
Hardy is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hardy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with valero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hardy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Hardy is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hardy wants to hold on but valero pushes him away.
valero can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hardy is looking to escape.
valero is really struggling to control Hardy but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
