The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mack displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cruz throws out the jab.
Cruz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mack.
Cruz blocks a head kick by Mack.
Mack moves out of range as Cruz strikes.
Cruz just misses with a punch to the body.
Cruz avoids the head kick by Mack.
Cruz misses with a jab, cross combination.
A right-left combo lands from Cruz.

Cruz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Mack takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Cruz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mack on the side of the head.
Cruz is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Cruz throws a looping overhand right but Mack ducks down to avoid it.
Cruz stuns Mack with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Cruz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Cruz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mack circles away quickly and effectively.

Jorge Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Mack.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Cruz lands a nice hook to Mack's body. Mack takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mack takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cruz lands with a straight right. Mack didn't see that one coming.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Cruz here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Cruz throws a hook to the side of Mack's head but Mack sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Cruz darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cruz lands a big right hand that sends Mack crashing to the mat! Cruz stays standing though and waves Mack back to his feet!

Mack is rocked!
Cruz looks to land a combination but Mack avoids it well.
Cruz lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Mack goes down and covers up as Cruz starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
