PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gavin Huber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Tiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Huber might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Boom Boom Pow. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gavin Huber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Tiger!
The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiger stuffs the takedown.

Tiger feints and as Huber raises his hands in defense, Tiger changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tiger wants to pass the guard but Huber is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tiger throws a big right hand that misses.
Tiger trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Tiger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Huber had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Tiger is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Huber Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Tiger's back instead.
You can see the frustration on Tiger's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Huber lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Tiger turns into Huber and is now in his guard.
Tiger trying to control the position from guard on top but Huber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Huber manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tiger manages to get himself to full guard.
Tiger preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Huber won't allow Tiger to sweep him here.
Huber throws and elbow that misses. Tiger uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Huber's guard. Nice move by Tiger!
Tiger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Huber looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Tiger is defending well. Huber quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Tiger has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Huber celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gavin Huber!
