The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

hughes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Arnold is trying to control but can't.
Arnold moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
hughes wants to control from the top but Arnold keeps moving.
Arnold is looking to stand up but hughes isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Arnold had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. hughes defends it easily.

hughes drops back looking for a leg! Arnold is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Arnold manages to kick hughes off! hughes jumps back into Arnold's guard.

hughes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Arnold has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, hughes has managed to get both his arms back between Arnold's legs - danger averted.
Arnold wants to get back to his feet but hughes is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Arnold lands a head kick that stumbles hughes and the fighters go to the mat.
