Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kruci Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George StPierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kruci Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George StPierre!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

StPierre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

StPierre thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

StPierre tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns is looking for a sweep.

StPierre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Burns is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Burns's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

StPierre is trying to get an arm triangle but Burns is defending well.
Burns is trying to control StPierre's posture but StPierre avoids it.

StPierre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burns, who protects the arm well.

Burns is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on StPierre's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
StPierre tries to pass the half guard into mount. Burns knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

StPierre is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

StPierre seems to be looking for submissions.
StPierre looks gassed!
Burns wants to control but StPierre is keeping busy and won't allow it.
StPierre trying to pass the guard but Burns defending well.

StPierre is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burns is just riding it out for now. StPierre eventually gives up the hold.
Burns tries to roll over but StPierre keeps him under control.
Burns trying to control but StPierre postures up.

StPierre is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Burns is trying to get back to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
StPierre wants to advance to full mount but Burns doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Burns is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Burns wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
StPierre stands and throws Burns's legs to the side, diving into side control.

StPierre goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Burns has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for StPierre but great work by Burns.
StPierre is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Burns looking to punish the body of his opponent here but StPierre is avoiding damage well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George StPierre dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


StPierre shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Burns defends it nicely.
Burns stuffs the takedown attempt from StPierre. StPierre gets slowly back to his feet.
Burns tries to close the distance and clinch but StPierre swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
StPierre shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Burns sprawls well. Burns wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. StPierre gets slowly back to his feet.
Kruci Burns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George StPierre.

Burns instigates a clinch.
Burns drops down looking for an ankle pick but StPierre pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns doesn't manage to clinch there - StPierre circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
StPierre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burns tries to avoid it but StPierre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burns to the ground. Burns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
StPierre circles away from the clinch attempt.

Burns misses with a two punch combination.
StPierre fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Burns stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Burns wants it to stay on the feet.
Burns tries to clinch but StPierre is having none of it.
Burns moves in looking to clinch but StPierre pushes him off.

StPierre drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
StPierre advances to half guard.
Burns is trying to control but can't.

StPierre is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Burns is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). George StPierre!
