Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brent Squires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Madukes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brent Squires!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Madukes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madukes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Squires as he avoids it easily.

Squires is trying to get back to full guard.
Madukes wants to control but Squires is keeping him busy.
Madukes not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Madukes in particular looking to stall.

Madukes is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Squires reverses the position - he's now on top in Madukes's guard.

Brent Squires overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Madukes is on top in guard.

Squires is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Madukes is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brent Squires.
I think Squires has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
