Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shinji Kagawa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Smith!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kagawa shoots in looking for a takedown but Smith manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kagawa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kagawa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Kagawa shoots in and gets a takedown into Smith's guard.
Smith wants to get back to his feet but Kagawa is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kagawa dives in and grabs Smith's left leg, looking for a takedown. Smith pushes down on Kagawa's head and hops out.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shinji Kagawa will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
No luck for Kagawa with that takedown attempt.
Kagawa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shinji Kagawa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kagawa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kagawa showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kagawa prevents Smith from standing back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shinji Kagawa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kagawa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
