Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randy Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Mayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Randy Couture has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Randy Couture seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mayes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Couture looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Mayes trying to keep a closed guard but Couture is proving a slippery customer.
Couture trying to control but Mayes is working from the bottom.

Couture feints and as Mayes raises his hands in defense, Couture changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters circling - Couture throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Couture moves into range and clinches up with Mayes.
Mayes can't break the clinch.
Couture has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Couture lands with a right to the head.
Couture is trying to force a seperation but Mayes has the dominant position.

Mayes jumps guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayes is trying to control the position but Couture postures up.
Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mayes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Couture kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Seth Mayes has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Mayes controls Couture momentarily but Couture frees himself.
Mayes wants to control the position but Couture says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Couture stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Randy Couture overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mayes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Couture doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mayes is tightening it up a little... Couture has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Couture reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Couture taps out! nice BJJ there by Mayes!
