The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodson gets a takedown into half guard.
Bassey has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hodson is working away from the top position though.

Steven Hodson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Spencer Bassey.
Bassey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hodson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hodson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Steven Hodson will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hodson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Bassey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hodson as he avoids it easily.

Hodson sneaks out the side door and pushes Bassey away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Hodson pushes a forearm under Bassey's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Bassey is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
