PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eugeny Lapik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Landa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugeny Lapik!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hans Landa!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapik lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Landa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Landa seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Lapik knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Landa on the ground.

Landa is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Landa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lapik's head.
Landa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Landa in particular looking to stall.

Landa takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Landa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Landa has hold of Lapik's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lapik manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Landa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Landa controlling the pace for now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hans Landa dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lapik throws a sloppy head kick and Landa moves out of range easily.
Landa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lapik circles away quickly and effectively.
Lapik throws a head kick but Landa moves out of range.

Eugeny Lapik is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lapik feints and then cracks Landa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Landa down.
Lapik takes one to the chin there.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Landa checks a leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Landa wants the takedown. Lapik is fighting it off but Landa persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lapik's guard against the cage.
Landa lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Landa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Landa is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Landa tries for a kimura but Lapik is defending well.
Landa misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Landa cracks Lapik with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Lapik is working to avoid the ground and pound but Landa connects with a decent elbow.

Lapik is rocked!
Landa is working Lapik over with some ground and pound from side control.
Oh Lapik is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Landa cracks Lapik with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Landa immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Lapik is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Landa!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hans Landa!
