Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Durell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Big Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Durell.
Durell throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Durell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Michael Durell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durell fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Durell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tiger falls off balance throwing a combination
and Durell connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Durell throws a nice looking combination but Tiger bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Durell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tiger.
Tiger takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Tiger takes one on the button.
Tiger uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durell.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Durell throws a series of punches but Tiger avoids them all with ease.
Durell misses with a hook.
Tiger thows a left - swing and a miss!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Durell lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Durell looks to land a right hand but Tiger moved out of range.
Tiger throws out a leg kick but Durell moves out of range and Tiger only half commits.
A jab from Durell does it's job there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Durell dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Tiger throws a series of punches but Durell avoids them all with ease.
Durell jabs Tiger right on the nose. Tiger blinks but takes it well.
Tiger doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Durell loads up on a big right hand but Tiger slips the punch.

Durell has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
A nice combination there by Durell.
Tiger uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Durell.
Durell throws out a loose jab but Tiger uses good head movement to avoid it.

Durell takes one on the button.


It looks like Michael Durell has been cut.
Tiger swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Durell counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tiger thinking.
Tiger blocks a jab.

Tiger rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Durell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Tiger fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Durell is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Durell loads up on a big right hand but Tiger slips the punch.
Tiger uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Durell.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Durell throws a combination that misses
and Tiger counters with a straight right hand.
Durell lands a nice looking body shot.
Big Tiger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Durell checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Durell throws a big shot that misses.
Tiger tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Durell counters with a straight right hand.

Tiger moves away from the strike by Durell.
A big right from Durell misses.
Durell swings for the body but Tiger moves out of range.
Durell lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Durell misses with a wild body shot.
Durell misses with a hook. Tiger ducked under it nicely.
Tiger is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Durell counters with a left to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Tiger walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Tiger tries to clinch but fails miserably
letting Durell counter with a right hand.
Durell throws a shot from downtown. Tiger moves away and avoids it.

Durell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tiger.
Big Tiger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Michael Durell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Tiger gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Durell.
Tiger takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Durell showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Durell has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
