PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Conway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kennedy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is MegaDeth - Symphony of Destruction. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Conway!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kennedy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Conway did well to prevent Kennedy getting side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conway is trying to maintain the position but Kennedy is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Conway is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kennedy.

Thomas Conway seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice straight punches there by Kennedy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kennedy.
Conway sizes up Kennedy with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Conway throws out a loose jab but Kennedy uses good head movement to avoid it.

Conway throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kennedy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Conway lands a hook that snaps the head of Kennedy backwards.

Both fighters working to control the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kennedy.
Conway lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Conway goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Conway presses Kennedy against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Kennedy's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
