Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Junior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sanji Yokohama!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior fails with an attempt to clinch.

Yokohama closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Junior quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Junior is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Yokohama missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Junior wants to control but Yokohama is keeping busy.
Yokohama not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Yokohama lands a big shot there that rocks Junior but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Junior blocking the ground and pound.
Junior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yokohama on the ground.

Yokohama has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Junior is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Yokohama throws and elbow that misses. Junior uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yokohama's guard. Nice move by Junior!

Yokohama looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Yokohama had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Junior defends it easily.
Junior trying to control the position from guard on top but Yokohama is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Yokohama is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Junior is aware though and is defending well.

Yokohama has his foot on Junior's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Junior works his way back into a safe position though.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Junior's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Yokohama keeping moving, preventing Junior from controlling successfully.
Junior trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Junior wants to control from the top but Yokohama keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yokohama pushes a forearm under Junior's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Junior is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sanji Yokohama!
