Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kendall Clarke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Godfathers A Chode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kendall Clarke has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kendall Clarke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Godfathers A Chode!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarke missing with a left hand there. Chode was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Clarke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Clarke feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Chodes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Chode cracks Clarke with a right hand to the side of the head.
Clarke fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Clarke closes the distance and clinches.
Chode blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Chode pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Clarke misses with a jab, cross combination.
Good standup being displayed there by Clarke as he connects with a hook.
Chode swings for the body but Clarke moves out of range.
Kendall Clarke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clarke shoots in for a double leg but Chode sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Chode misses with a straight left.

Clarke drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Chode is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Chode is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
An elbow from Clarke crashes against the mat.

Clarke wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chode keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clarke creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Chode sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Chode gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Chode avoids a series of strikes thrown by Clarke.
Chode bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Chode stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clarke swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Clarke manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Chode is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chode is working to get back to half guard.
Clarke wants to control the pace but Chode is squirming around nicely.
Chode wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Clarke.

Clarke is working for a guillotine from mount but Chode frees his head quite easily.
Clarke throws some wild stikes that Chode manages to avoid easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Clarke wants to finish this one by submission but Chode is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Clarke.
Chode is trying desperately to improve position.
Clarke tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Chode is working to get back to half guard.
Clarke in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Clarke avoids the attempt from Chode to control.
Chode bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Chode pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Clarke is keeping the position for now.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clarke holds on and takes a little breather.
Clarke has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Clarke avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Clarke looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chode is one step ahead there.
Clarke is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kendall Clarke wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Chode connects with a body shot that sends Clarke's belly button to the back.
Chode shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Clarke pinned against the cage. Clarke gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Clarke tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Clarke throws a leg kick but Chode checks it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chode.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Chode will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kendall Clarke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Godfathers A Chode.
Clarke doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Chode counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Clarke tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Chode connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Clarke throws a series of punches but Chode avoids them all with ease.
Clarke misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chode.
Clarke tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chode paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Clarke really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Clarke shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chode manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Clarke with a flurry of punches that miss.
Clarke advances position into side control!
Clarke looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Chode is avoiding damage well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kendall Clarke dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Chode shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Clarke defends it nicely.

Clarke bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Clarke trying to control the action but Chode is working from the bottom.
An elbow from Clarke crashes against the mat.
Clarke lands a nice forearm strike.
Chode takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Clarke in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Clarke working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Clarke tries for a kimura but Chode is defending well.
Chode is trying to improve his position.

Chode manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Clarke wants to control but Chode is keeping busy.

Clarke manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chode manages to get himself to full guard.

Clarke looking to sit in guard and control but Chode gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Chode slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Clarke is looking to improve his position.
Clarke is positioning himself well to prevent Chode advancing to mount.
Clarke manages to get to full guard.

Clarke manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Clarke lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Clarke will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Clarke sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Chode can't escape the position.
Clarke looking to control but Chode is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Clarke lands with some strikes.
Clarke takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Chode is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Clarke working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Chode looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Clarke! Submission of the night perhaps?
