Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andersam salavate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Kessler!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
salavate looks to land a left hand but Kessler moved out of range nicely.
A jab from Kessler misses.
salavate fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kessler sprawls well initially but salavate persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
salavate sitting and controlling from the half guard.
salavate wants to pass to mount but Kessler is defending the position.
salavate slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
salavate has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Andersam salavate.
Kessler avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kessler throws a front kick aimed at salavate's knee but salavate avoids it well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
salavate moves out of range of the body kick from Kessler.
salavate avoids a kick to the body.
Kessler pivots, looking for a leg kick but salavate is out of range and Kessler settles back down.
Kessler ducks under a wild hook from salavate.
salavate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

salavate content just to control the position here.
salavate seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kessler for as long as he can get away with.
salavate takes Kessler's back.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
salavate has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Kessler! Can he survive? No! He's out! salavate gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
