PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Darsley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Bott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Thomas Darsley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Bott!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Darsley as he avoids it easily.
Darsley looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Darsley slaps away a takedown attempt from Bott, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bott cracks Darsley with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Bott bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bott is looking to take a break and control but Darsley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bott might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Darsley kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bott throws a strike aimed at the side of Darsley's head but Darsley avoids it well.
Darsley is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bott connects with a decent elbow.
Bott is looking to take a break and control but Darsley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Bott tries for a kimura but Darsley is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bott thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bott misses with the ground and pound.

Bott working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bott trying to control the position but Darsley is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bott tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bott has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bott has an Americana. Darsley didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Bott is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Bott hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jason Bott!
