Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe Peezy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peezy comes into the arena with Majin Buu Theme Song blaring out of the sound system. Shields has chosen Take your shirt off as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields moves out of range as Peezy throws a body kick.
Peezy tries a head kick but it misses.
Peezy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Peezy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Peezy drives through and clinches with Shields against the cage.

Peezy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Peezy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shields moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

No joy there for Peezy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Peezy rushes Shields and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Peezy lands an elbow inside that Shields shrugs off.

Peezy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Peezy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shields manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shields has Peezy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shields pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Peezy tumbling to the mat - Shields dives into Peezy's guard.
Shields prevents Peezy from getting back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shields drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shields jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shields looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Peezy is avoiding damage well.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Peezy here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Shields is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Peezy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Peezy wants to get back to his feet.

Shields connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Peezy some visible discomfort.

Peezy tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shields cranks the arm and Peezy screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Peezy, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
