Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hade Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Slider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wood kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Mama Said Knock You Out. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slider avoids the body shot from Wood.

Wood shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Wood looking to pass the guard.
Wood trying to control but Slider is working from the bottom.

Wood drops back looking for a leg! Slider is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Slider manages to kick Wood off! Wood jumps back into Slider's guard.

Wood is really struggling to control Slider but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Slider drops Wood with a right and a left! Slider comes rushing in but Wood regains his composure and manages to keep Slider in guard.

Wood is rocked!

It looks like Hade Wood has been cut.
Slider pushes down on Wood's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Oh Wood is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wood has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Slider escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Slider!
Slider works to advance to full mount. Wood defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Slider controlling the position easily from mount.

Wood tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wood tries to hold on but Slider postures up.

Wood seems to have got his legs back now.
Slider is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Slider tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Wood tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wood is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wood is looking to improve his position but Slider isn't that keen on the idea.
Wood is working hard here to advance position.
Wood flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Wood regains half guard.
Wood wants to get back to full guard.
Wood is breathing heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wood has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slider is working away from the top position though.
Wood is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Slider is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Wood gets full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wood is on top in guard.
Slider preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wood looking to sit in guard and control but Slider gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Slider trying to control the position from guard on top but Wood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Slider passes Wood's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Slider dominated that round.

A jab from Slider finds it's way through Wood's defenses.
Wood lands a jab to the nose.
William Slider seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wood looks for a takedown but Slider sprawls well.
Slider throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Wood stumbling backwards into the cage! Wood bounces back off the cage towards Slider, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Slider lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Slider celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
