The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lennox keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gracie looks to land a combination. Lennox sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Lennox stuffs the takedown.
Gracie throws a right and a left that Lennox avoids nicely.

Gracie has control of Lennox's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lennox regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Lennox is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie.
Gracie wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Lennox is working to get back to half guard.

Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lennox turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lennox is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lennox's back instead.

Gracie is looking for a choke. Lennox gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Lennox manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Lennox controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lennox.
Lennox throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Lennox tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.
Gracie wants to free his trapped foot but Lennox is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gracie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lennox defends it well.

Gracie throws a hook but Lennox avoids it easily.
Gracie looks to score with a jab to the body but Lennox is just out of range.
Gracie swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Lennox throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Lennox throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot.
Gracie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lennox on the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lennox's head backwards.
Gracie throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Vitor Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and Lennox counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lennox manages to avoid it.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gracie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lennox is looking to escape.

Gracie working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Lennox looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Gracie! Submission of the night perhaps?
