Alderson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dark moon High tide. The key to victory for John AppleSkillett has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John AppleSkillett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matias Alderson!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
AppleSkillett dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
AppleSkillett lands a two punch combo.
AppleSkillett looks to throw the jab but Alderson is out of range.

AppleSkillett closes the distance and clinches.

AppleSkillett breaks the clinch.

Alderson drops AppleSkillett with a beautiful combination! AppleSkillett stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Alderson is looking for the KO!

It looks like John AppleSkillett has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
AppleSkillett misses with a two punch combination.
Oh AppleSkillett is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alderson checks the leg kick.
AppleSkillett seems to have got his legs back now.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Alderson.

Alderson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alderson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
AppleSkillett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alderson on the ground.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

AppleSkillett misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
AppleSkillett connects with a single shot there.
AppleSkillett lands a jab to Alderson's midsection.

Alderson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in AppleSkillett's half guard.

Let's hope that Alderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Matias Alderson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
AppleSkillett looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
AppleSkillett throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Alderson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but AppleSkillett swivels and escapes.
AppleSkillett scores with a head kick. Alderson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Alderson tries to move into range but AppleSkillett moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

and AppleSkillett counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John AppleSkillett will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John AppleSkillett's cut.
That's time! AppleSkillett's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


AppleSkillett throws a nice looking combination but Alderson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Alderson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Alderson pivots, looking for a leg kick but AppleSkillett is out of range and Alderson settles back down.

AppleSkillett fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alderson, pushing him back against the cage.
AppleSkillett wants to break the clinch but can't.
AppleSkillett is pressed up against the cage. Alderson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag AppleSkillett down to the mat. AppleSkillett avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alderson fails with an attempt to clinch.
AppleSkillett lands a really nice looking cross but Alderson seems unphased.
Alderson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and AppleSkillett is able to avoid easily.
John AppleSkillett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alderson looks for a takedown but AppleSkillett sprawls well.
John AppleSkillett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matias Alderson.
Alderson closes the distance but AppleSkillett moves to the side
and AppleSkillett counters with a three punch combo that has Alderson backing up. Alderson nods at AppleSkillett to acknowledge the strikes.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
John AppleSkillett is winning the standup battle so far.
Alderson is breathing heavily.

AppleSkillett throws out a leg kick but Alderson moves out of range and AppleSkillett only half commits.
Alderson is still on wobbly legs! Can AppleSkillett finish him?
AppleSkillett feints with a jab and clips Alderson right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Alderson is sent crashing into the canvas and AppleSkillett leaps in for the kill! Alderson tries to get to his feet but AppleSkillett is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Alderson is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John AppleSkillett!
