Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gregg Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dewayne Jennings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valentine comes to the cage accompanied by Downtown Swinga 96 by MOP. Jennings has chosen Step Out (by Benny Page) as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregg Valentine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dewayne Jennings!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Valentine. Jennings does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jennings throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Valentine scores with a jab. Jennings acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Valentine's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Valentine duly obliges.
Jennings is looking to clinch.
Jennings uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Valentine.
Valentine tests Jennings's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jennings looks to score with a jab to the body but Valentine is just out of range.
Jennings wants to land a leg kick but Valentine is out of range.
A swing and a miss from Jennings.
Jennings throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Valentine tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jennings is in Valentine's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Valentine is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jennings is aware though and is defending well.

Valentine bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jennings's guard.
Jennings wants to stand and escape but Valentine is having none of it.

Valentine got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jennings has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Valentine has managed to get both his arms back between Jennings's legs - danger averted.
Valentine avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Valentine slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jennings tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jennings wants to stand up but Valentine is controlling him.
Jennings is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Valentine defends well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Valentine drops back looking for a leg! Jennings is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jennings manages to kick Valentine off! Valentine jumps back into Jennings's guard.
Valentine wants to pass the guard but Jennings is keeping the position.
Jennings has his foot on Valentine's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Valentine works his way back into a safe position though.

We're going to have a standup here because Gregg Valentine wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Valentine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jennings is looking to score with low kicks.
Valentine avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Valentine misses with a low kick as Jennings jumps back.
A bone on bone clash there as Jennings blocks the leg kick.
Nice takedown defense from Valentine. No joy for Jennings on that attempt.

Jennings tries to clinch up but Valentine circles away and keeps his distance.

Valentine rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jennings moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Valentine looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dewayne Jennings seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jennings closes the distance looking to clinch
and Valentine makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Jennings dodges the punch combination from Valentine.
Valentine swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gregg Valentine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jennings gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Jennings tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Valentine is able to avoid easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jennings wants to clinch but Valentine slips to the side
and Valentine counters with a left to the body.
Jennings gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Valentine is looking to wear down Jennings with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Jennings misses with a few strikes there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gregg Valentine dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jennings takes one on the button.
Valentine takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Valentine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice straight punches there by Valentine. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Valentine.
Jennings lands a nice hook to Valentine's body. Valentine takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Valentine swings for the body but Jennings moves out of range.

Valentine jabs Jennings to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jennings is still on wobbly legs! Can Valentine finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Valentine throws a nice outside leg kick.
Are you kidding me?! Valentine ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Jennings clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
