Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Cena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and pete piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cena might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to My time is now. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

piper wants to clinch up but Cena keeps it at a distance.
piper tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cena paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cena closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cena lands in his opponent's guard.
Cena lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
piper looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Cena thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cena accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cena drops back looking for a leg! piper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and piper manages to kick Cena off! Cena jumps back into piper's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Cena's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

piper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cena gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cena forces his way into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's one minute gone in the round.
piper is looking to improve his position.
Cena has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cena looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cena passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for piper!
Cena postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. piper looks a forlorn figure.
Cena pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cena looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has piper covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
