PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuey Chuleta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bolodenka Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chuleta's entrance music is CHINGO BLING - PUT MY SWAG ON REMIX. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Chuleta.
Kharitonov thows a body shot but no joy.
Kharitonov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kharitonov. Chuleta does a little dance to reset his feet.

Chuleta darts in and clinches Kharitonov up against the cage.
Kharitonov wants to stall.
Kharitonov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Chuleta is trying to trip Kharitonov. He has hold of a leg but Kharitonov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chuleta persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Chuleta shoots in looking for a takedown but Kharitonov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chuleta's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Chuleta turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Chuleta manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chuleta tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chuleta has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kharitonov wants to get back to his feet but Chuleta drags him back down.

Kharitonov sneaks out the side door and pushes Chuleta away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Kharitonov throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kharitonov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Chuleta drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kharitonov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chuleta has Kharitonov in his guard.
Kharitonov wants to stand but Chuleta has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Kharitonov is fighting to break Chuleta's control of his arms but Chuleta is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Chuleta's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Chuleta is looking to stand up but Kharitonov isn't so interested in that idea.

We're going to have a standup here because Chuey Chuleta wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Bolodenka Kharitonov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chuleta closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kharitonov quickly recovers to half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Chuleta connects with a nice short shot to Kharitonov's temple.

Chuleta drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Chuleta seems to have locked his on tight now - Kharitonov screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Chuleta, as he picks up the win!
