Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tong Po (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Tong Po has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tong Po!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn swats away the attempt to clinch by Po.

Po instigates a clinch.
Po tries to break free but Severn pushes him back against the cage.
Po prevents the takedown attempt.
Severn with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Severn has Po pressed against the cage.
Po is working Severn over against the cage.
Severn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Po avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Po stalls.
Po is trying to break the clinch but Severn is controlling him.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Severn as Po tries to tie him up.
Po wants to break free but Severn has control.

Po breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Severn tries to land a leg kick but Po saw it coming and moves away.
Po tries to close the distance and clinch but Severn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Po could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Po scores with a head kick. Severn tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Dan Severn has been cut.
Po tries to clinch up.
Po defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Severn.
Tong Po has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Severn.
Po tries to clinch up but Severn circles away and keeps his distance.
Po smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Severn looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Po throws a nice looking combination but Severn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Severn closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Po quickly recovers to half guard.
Po wants to get back to his feet.

Severn looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Po scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Severn manages to mount him!
Severn takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Po squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Severn content just to control the position here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tong Po dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dan Severn's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Severn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Po wants to stand and escape but Severn is having none of it.
Severn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Severn sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Po's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Severn content to control rather than advance.
Po is trying to stand back up but Severn is controlling him
Severn works his way into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Severn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Severn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dan Severn wasn't active enough on the ground.
Po tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Po tries to clinch but Severn moves out of range.
Severn shoots in looking for a takedown. Po tries to sprawl out of it but Severn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Po manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Severn misses with a double jab
and Po counters with an outside leg kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Severn with a lazy takedown attempt
and Po counters with a thumping low kick.
Po is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Severn scores with a takedown into Po's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Severn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Po tries to clinch there but Severn circles away.
Po tries to clinch up but Severn circles away and keeps his distance.
Po stuffs the takedown.
No luck for Severn with that takedown attempt.

Severn gets tackled into the cage by Po. Po maintains the clinch.
Po using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Po landing knees to the head.
A short body shot lands from Po as the two fighters clinch.

Po manages to break the clinch.
Po scores with a nice body kick.
Severn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Po fails with an attempt to clinch.
Severn misses with a takedown attempt
and Po counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tong Po has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Severn.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Po tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Po scores with a nice body kick.
Po tries a head kick but it misses.
Severn throws a low kick but it's checked well by Po.
Po lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Po tries to clinch there but Severn circles away.
Severn dives in and grabs Po's left leg, looking for a takedown. Po pushes down on Severn's head and hops out.
Po tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Severn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Severn swats away the attempt to clinch by Po.
Severn is looking to clinch but Po is avoiding it.
Severn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fight stays on the outside here - Po looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Severn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Po as he jumps to the side.
Po looks to land a body kick but Severn moved away.
A solid leg kick lands there for Po.
Po throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Severn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Po counters with a thumping low kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Po gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Po gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Severn.

Po breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Severn avoids a punch combination nicely.
Po throws a right hand that Severn ducks under and follows up with a left that Severn also avoids with ease.
Nice sprawl there from Po as Severn shoots in.
Po is looking to clinch.

Severn instigates a clinch.
Po lands an elbow that stopped Severn in his tracks for a moment.
Knees in the clinch landing for Po.
Po wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Severn has him pressed against the cage.
Severn wants to break the clinch but can't.
Severn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Po is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Po tries to stall but Severn uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Severn wants a takedown but no success here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Po presses Severn against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Severn's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Po can't break the clinch.
Severn will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Po up against the cage.
Po is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Severn keeps control of Po as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Po prevents Severn from breaking the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A frustrated look appears on Po's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Severn tries for a takedown. No joy.
Severn is trying to drag Po to the mat but Po just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Severn tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tong Po showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Po has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
