PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nintendo Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raimo Posti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takada's entrance music is Super Mario Bros Theme Soundtrack . A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nintendo Takada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raimo Posti!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Posti looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nintendo Takada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Posti tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takada swivels and escapes.
Takada fails with an attempt to clinch.
Takada wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Takada throws a hook to the side of Posti's head but Posti sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Posti showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Takada.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Takada.
Sloppy strikes from Posti. Those never looked like landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Posti drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Posti lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Takada is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Posti drops back, looking for a kneebar! Takada looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Takada looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Takada!
Takada wants to take a breather but Posti manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Takada.

Posti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Posti is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Posti looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Takada has picked Posti up and slammed him! Posti can't keep hold of the triangle and Takada manages to pass to side control!

Takada tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Takada has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Posti manages to get back to half guard.
Takada is trying to control. Posti wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That was a close round but I would say that Nintendo Takada will probably get the nod.

Takada connects with a right hand. Posti shakes it off.
Takada fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Posti looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Posti is breathing heavily.
Takada thuds his right hand into Posti's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Takada tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Posti was well out of range. Poor timing from Takada.
Takada moves out of range as Posti strikes.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Posti checks a leg kick.

Posti shoots in looking for a takedown. Takada tries to sprawl out of it but Posti keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Takada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Takada comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Takada throws a shot from downtown. Posti moves away and avoids it.

Posti has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Takada to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Posti is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Takada pulls down on the head and he's put Posti to sleep! This one is all over!
