Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Moore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dudley Egerts!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Egerts looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Moore pushes Egerts up against the cage in a clinch.

Moore turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Moore controlling from side mount.
Sloppy strikes there by Moore.
The referee asks Moore politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Moore prefers to stall for the moment though.

Moore decides to stand back up.
Egerts tries to close the distance and clinch but Moore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Moore moves into the clinch.
Egerts tries to pull guard but Moore won't allow it.

Egerts turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Egerts manages to end up in side control.
Moore is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Moore tries to buck Egerts off but Egerts is having none of it.
Moore is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Egerts asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Moore defending against the ground and pound.
Moore is trying to control Egerts's posture but Egerts avoids it.
Egerts trying to control the action but Moore is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Moore manages to get back to half guard.
Moore works his way to full guard. Good work.
Moore seems keen to control Egerts's posture.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Moore keeping moving, preventing Egerts from controlling successfully.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Moore closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Egerts did well to prevent Moore getting side control.
Egerts really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moore. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Moore takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Egerts is looking to escape.
Egerts is looking to control Moore's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Egerts avoid being mounted?

Moore stands up and beckons Egerts to join him on the feet.
Egerts doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Moore cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Moore looking to land some kicks to the body here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Egerts fails with the takedown

and Moore counters by moving into the clinch.
Tommy Moore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dudley Egerts.

Moore is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Egerts can't fight it off and eventually Moore manages to take the fight to the floor. Egerts looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Moore stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Moore is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Egerts's half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Well, if Moore is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Moore thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Moore dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Moore closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Egerts did well to prevent Moore getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Egerts tries to roll over but Moore keeps him under control.
Moore controlling the pace.

Moore gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Egerts misses with a takedown

and Moore holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Egerts is trying to force a seperation but Moore has the dominant position.
Egerts stops a takedown attempt from Moore.
Egerts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Moore walks away with a smile on his face. Egerts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Egerts closes the distance looking to clinch

and Moore counters with a nice double leg into side control. Egerts won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Egerts tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Moore working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Moore is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Moore extends the arm and Egerts is forced to tap!
