Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steven Elchert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evgeniy Miroshnichenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Steven Elchert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Evgeniy Miroshnichenko!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elchert keeps the fight on the outside.
Elchert leaves Miroshnichenko with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Elchert avoids a kick to the body.
Miroshnichenko tries to bum rush Elchert with a series of wild strikes but Elchert uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Elchert gets a takedown into half guard.
Well, if Elchert is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Miroshnichenko won't allow Elchert to pass to mount.
Miroshnichenko moves into full guard.

Elchert has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Steven Elchert.
Elchert tries to score a power double leg takedown but Miroshnichenko sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Elchert somewhat.

Elchert seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Elchert knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miroshnichenko on the ground.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steven Elchert wasn't doing enough on the ground.
