Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Simon Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fausto Carmelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fausto Carmelon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cole looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carmelon avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cole.
Cole wants to take a breather but Carmelon is having none of it.
Carmelon is trying to control but Cole passes into side control!

Carmelon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Poor strikes thrown by Cole there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carmelon sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cole wants to pass to mount but Carmelon is defending the position.
Cole is trying to control the action in half guard but Carmelon is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Carmelon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cole. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Cole shoots in and drives through. Carmelon sprawls well.

Cole closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Carmelon wants to get back to his feet but Cole drags him back down.

Cole works to advance to full mount. Carmelon defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Cole is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Carmelon can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cole is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Carmelon is surviving well by controlling Cole's body position as best he can.

Fausto Carmelon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Carmelon really wants to buck Cole off and get back to his feet.

Cole has hold of Carmelon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Carmelon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
