Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Albert Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McClane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McClane comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ashton moves away from the strike by McClane.
McClane slaps away a takedown attempt from Ashton, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ashton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McClane's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McClane can do anything to dispel that myth.
Ashton trying to control but McClane is working from the bottom.

Ashton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ashton drops back, looking for a kneebar! McClane looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McClane looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McClane!
Ashton tries to buck McClane off but McClane is having none of it.

McClane stands up.
McClane connects with the punch.

Albert Ashton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ashton fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McClane avoids it really well and circles away.

McClane tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ashton swats him away and circles back towards the center.
