PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chase Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Guzman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera (Walk). Guzman has chosen La Cucaracha as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Guzman!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guzman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Storm moves away.
Storm misses the shot to the body.
Guzman connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.


It looks like Chase Storm has been cut.
Guzman throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Guzman loads up on a big right hand but Storm slips the punch.
Guzman lands with a hook. Storm tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Guzman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Chase Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Guzman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Storm.

Storm shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Storm is looking to stall here but Guzman recovers full guard.

Storm drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Guzman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Storm has Guzman in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Storm lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Storm uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Guzman.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Storm connects with a good right hand that stumbles Guzman. Guzman circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Chase Storm will probably get the nod.

Storm is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Guzman defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Storm controlling the position well here. Guzman rolled but Storm kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Storm is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Guzman is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Guzman is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Storm gets his way!
Guzman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Storm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Storm looking to break Guzman's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Guzman remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Storm will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Storm wants to control the position but Guzman frees himself and scrambles - Storm manages to regain control in side control.

Storm has an Americana. Guzman didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Storm is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Storm hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
