Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ramazan Sahin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Pajanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ramazan Sahin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesse Pajanen!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sahin scores a takedown into full mount!
Pajanen can't escape the position.

Sahin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Pajanen is now in Sahin's guard. A big mistake from Sahin there, giving up the dominant position!
Pajanen wants to control from the top but Sahin keeps moving.

Sahin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pajanen defends well.
Sahin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sahin has control of Pajanen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pajanen regains control of the situation pretty easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pajanen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sahin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pajanen, who protects the arm well.

Sahin is trying to get an arm triangle but Pajanen is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Pajanen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sahin ducks right into an uppercut from Pajanen.
Pajanen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Pajanen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Sahin's head backwards.
Pajanen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sahin was well out of range. Poor timing from Pajanen.

Sahin moves out of range of the body kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sahin.
Pajanen connects with a looping right hand.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pajanen.

Sahin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sahin throws and elbow that misses. Pajanen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sahin's guard. Nice move by Pajanen!

Sahin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pajanen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sahin.
Pajanen is looking to take a break and control but Sahin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee asks Pajanen politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pajanen prefers to stall for the moment though.

Pajanen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sahin's shoulder. That is not cool.
Sahin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pajanen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Jesse Pajanen has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Pajanen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Sahin back to the cage. Pajanen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pajanen tests Sahin's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Pajanen looks to score with a jab to the body but Sahin is just out of range.
Pajanen moves in looking to clinch but Sahin pushes him off.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sahin is defended easily by Pajanen.
Pajanen lunges at Sahin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sahin's hand.
Pajanen wants to land a leg kick but Sahin is out of range.

Pajanen digs a good body shot into Sahin's ribs.
Pajanen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sahin. Sahin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Pajanen misses with a hook. Sahin ducked under it nicely.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Sahin here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Pajanen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sahin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Pajanen throws a hook to the side of Sahin's head but Sahin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sahin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Sahin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sahin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sahin there as he acknowledges the shot.

A punch lands to the side of Sahin 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Sahin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Sahin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pajanen's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jesse Pajanen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sahin looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Pajanen connects with a body shot that sends Sahin's belly button to the back.
Pajanen throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sahin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Pajanen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sahin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Pajanen decides to stand back up.

Pajanen has managed to clinch.
Sahin has Pajanen pressed against the cage, preventing Pajanen from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Pajanen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sahin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pajanen.

Pajanen moves in looking to clinch but Sahin pushes him off.
Sahin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pajanen.

Sahin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pajanen is keeping the position for now.

Sahin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pajanen is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sahin, into his guard.
Sahin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pajanen is one step ahead there.
Pajanen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pajanen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I think Pajanen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
