Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Burns's guard.
Burns is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Thompson dives into side control.

Burns bucks up and tries to throw Thompson off but instead Thompson has got his back!
Burns wants to get back to his feet.
Burns knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thompson on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thompson lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Burns.
Thompson scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Burns is looking for a way out.
Thompson looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Thompson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Let's hope that Thompson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
