Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Andy Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spark Plug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck by AC/DC. Plug has chosen ayyy as his entrance music. Andy Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva falls off balance throwing a combination
and Plug counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Plug misses with a straight right.
Silva misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Plug looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.

and Plug counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Plug with a flurry of punches that miss.
Plug pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Plug stands up over Silva, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silva, right into the meat.
Silva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Plug has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Plug might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
