Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Larry King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francis Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Francis Drake has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Larry King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Francis Drake!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake moves out of range of the strikes.
Drake shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as King sprawls well. King wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Drake gets slowly back to his feet.
Drake swats away the attempt to clinch by King.
King throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Drake sees it coming and avoids it easily.
King misses with a head kick.
King misses with a head kick.
Drake moves out of range as King strikes.
Drake circles away from the clinch attempt
and Drake counters with a lovely shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King moves to clinch but Drake breaks away

and Drake counters with a nice double leg into side control. King won't be happy with that.
Drake is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down King's shoulder. That is not cool.
Drake wants to control but King is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King is trying to get back to half guard.
Drake trying to control the action but King is working from the bottom.
King tries to buck Drake off but Drake is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Drake wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.
Drake looking to control but instead King has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drake is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily.
King wants to improve his position but Drake is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drake is trying to control the action in half guard but King is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drake wants to free his trapped foot but King is holding on for dear life with his legs.
King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Drake on the ground.
Drake is figuring out what he wants to do next.
King is trying to maintain the position but Drake is very close to passing his half guard.
Drake is controlling the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
King misses with a right hand

and Drake decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in King's guard.
Drake wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Drake wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position.
Drake trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
King tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Drake is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Drake trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Francis Drake dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
King is looking to clinch.
A big right from King misses.
Drake shoots in but no luck this time.
King is looking to clinch.
King fails in his attempt to clinch.
King swings widly with a right hand

and Drake counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in King's guard now.
Drake trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
Drake works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Drake wants to work for an arm triangle but King is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Drake moves nicely into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Drake is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.
Drake wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.
King on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if King tries to get out of the position.

Drake is trying to get an arm triangle but King is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Drake trying to control the action but King is working from the bottom.
Drake might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control King kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

King is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Drake is controlling him well.
Drake wants to lay and pray for a moment but King keeps working.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Francis Drake hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A head kick misses from King.
King throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
King tries to clinch

and Drake counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for King!

King has left one of his arms exposed and Drake doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. King screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Francis Drake!
