The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Medway lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Medway gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Davis to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Medway wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Davis manages to pass to side control.
Davis is nestled in close to Medway, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Davis looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Davis lands a nice short elbow.
Davis works his way into full mount!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Medway can do anything to dispel that myth.
