The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kwala dips to his left and cracks Clapper with an uppercut!
Kwala throws a right hand that Clapper ducks under and follows up with a left that Clapper also avoids with ease.

Clapper shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kwala is trying to defend but Clapper finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Clapper wants to control the pace but Kwala is squirming around nicely.

Clapper takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Clapper closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kwala quickly recovers to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kwala is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Clapper has taken his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
