The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves avoids a kick to the body.
Alves lands a head shot.
Alves throws a hook but Cole blocks it.
Alves scores with a punch to the head.
Alves feints a jab promting Cole to slip. Alves then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Cole slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Cole falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab.
Alves takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Cole fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cole swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Alves counters with a nice body shot.
Cole throws a series of punches but Alves avoids them all with ease.
Cole scores with a jab.
Jay Cole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alves throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cole falls off balance throwing a combination
and Alves counters with a left to the body.
Alves dodges the punch combination from Cole.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cole looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Alves connects with a jab.
Alves thuds his right hand into Cole's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Cole with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Alves to score with a decent uppercut.
Alves dips to his left and cracks Cole with an uppercut!
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Alves scores with a sloppy right hand. Cole should have avoided that one.

Cole takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Alves Throws a clean left jab. Alves Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Cole's chin! Cole crumbles to the ground and Alves follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Alves!
