PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcin Jewtuszko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kelly Axel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jewtuszko kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Rolling Stones - Paint it black. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcin Jewtuszko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kelly Axel!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jewtuszko fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Axel sprawls well initially but Jewtuszko persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jewtuszko is just content to waste time from the top position. Axel takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Jewtuszko postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Axel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jewtuszko, into his guard.
Axel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jewtuszko swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Axel drops back looking for a leg! Jewtuszko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jewtuszko manages to kick Axel off! Axel jumps back into Jewtuszko's guard.

Axel tries to free his leg and advance position but Jewtuszko is retaining full guard.

Jewtuszko had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Axel defends it easily.

Axel drops back looking for a leg! Jewtuszko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jewtuszko manages to kick Axel off! Axel jumps back into Jewtuszko's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jewtuszko is on top in guard.

Jewtuszko has gone for a leg lock! Axel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jewtuszko's guard.

Axel is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jewtuszko is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jewtuszko has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Axel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jewtuszko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jewtuszko pulls Axel in close to prevent any damage.

Axel has gone for a leg lock! Jewtuszko slips out almost immediately though and dives into Axel's guard.

Jewtuszko drops back, looking for a kneebar! Axel looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Axel looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Axel!

Axel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jewtuszko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Axel wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Axel is trying to get an arm triangle but Jewtuszko is defending well.

Jewtuszko manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Axel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Axel is working for a kimura but Jewtuszko is defending it quite comfortably.
Jewtuszko wants to improve his position but Axel is controlling well.

Axel is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jewtuszko is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
